Apostolic Visit To MADAGASCAR
January 2010
Apostle Harley Ithier, IMPACT Network's Representative for Mauritius, made an apostolic visit to Madagascar in January 2010. Madagascar, is a republic in the Indian Ocean, separated from the southeastern coast of Africa by the Mozambique Channel. Madagascar is made up of Madagascar Island, the fourth largest island in the world, and several small islands. The country’s area totals 587,041 sq km (226,658 sq mi). Madagascar was annexed by the French in 1896 and became self-governing within the French Community in 1958 as the Malagasy Republic. It gained full independence in 1960 and took the name Democratic Republic of Madagascar in 1975. It became the republic of Madagascar in 1993 after a new constitution was adopted.
The main leader that Apostle Harley connected with in Madagascar's capitol Antananarivo (Tana for short), Apostle Jocelyn, was one of the more than 5000 African and Middle East delegates that came to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in 1999 for our IMPACT 2000: Apostolic Strategies Affecting Nations World Congress. All 5000 also received personal prophecy during that week from Crusaders/IMPACT prophetic teams. So many leaders were powerfully impacted during that conference, that we still hear testimonies more than a decade later.
Apostles Eckhardt and Sippach have both ministered in Madagascar, with Apostle Sippach making a second trip to preach in 2 cities there. We are so blessed to hear how Apostle Jocelyn's church has seen such tremendous growth in Tana, becoming a mega-church of over 15,000 now with great influence in the nation. Be encouraged to hear how God is moving in the most remote regions of the world as you read Apostle Harley Ithier's report of his recent apostolic visit to Madagascar.
